OVW TV #910: "Who 'Steele' Has Hair?"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, January 25, 2017. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Tyler Matrix defends the OVW Television Title against Robbie Walker, Big Zo, & Rev. Stuart Miles in a Fatal 4 Way, Trevor Steele faces Diamond in a hair vs. hair match, Big Smooth faces Team Next Level with the Southern Tag Team Titles on the lineplus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Jade Dawson defeats LJ. Jade with some kicks to the gut and the head, but misses a dive from the top rope. LJ fires back, but misses a splash from the top rope. Jade hits the snap DDT for 3.

Trevor Steele is interviewed. He says he will reign against Diamond and this is the age of the Mullet Club.

Ca$h Flo defeats Lucas Jacobs & El Stingray in a handicap match. This was pretty much a squash. Ca$h dishes out his nasty chops and puts them both away with the spinning faceplants for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey & Shannon the Dude are on commentary and Gilbert is the ring announcer.

OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLES: "Team Next Level": "The Complete Athlete" Devin Driscoll & "Shotgun" Tony Gunn defeat "Big Smooth": Big Jon & Justin Smooth (c). Next Level controls a lot of the match after taking out Smooth's knee and working it over. Smooth is able to pull himself up and hit the running big boot to Gunn. They both tag out. Jon hits Driscoll, splashes him in the corner, and hits a side slam, but Gunn is in to break the count. In the melee, the ref gets knocked out. Rocco Bellagio comes out and hits Smooth in the back of his bad leg with a steel rod. This gets Jon's attention and he chases Rocco around the ring. Gunn is hiding and superkicks him in the gut as he comes around the corner. Driscoll then hits a cutter on the floor, rolls Jon in, and gets the 3!
We have NEW OVW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!

HAIR vs. HAIR MATCH: "Wrestling's Rockstar" Diamond defeats Trevor Steele. Trevor with a lot of power moves early. Diamond fires back and goes for the reverse flying body. Steele catches him, and sets him up for the torture rack slam, but Diamond slides off and rolls him up for 3. Steele is outraged, and says to restart the match. He is not willing to stay to get his head shaved.
About 6 guys show up at the curtain and force him into the ring where they help hold him, so that Diamond can shave his head.

Kevin Giza & Billy O defeat Dapper Dan Van Zandt & Ringmaster. This is the Circus' curtain call, as Dan & Ringmaster are off their game the entire match with several miscommunications. This allows Billy O to get a hot tag after a double DDT. Giza comes in, kicks Dan in the head, and dropkicks Ringmaster in the corner. Dan charges at Giza, but splashes Ringmaster by accident. Billy O clotheslines Dan from the apron, and Giza gets the 3 on Ringmaster. After the match, Ringmaster & Dan argue and Dan delivers a Death Valley Driver to Ringmaster.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE FATAL 4-WAY: "The King of Hairstyle" Robbie Walker defeats "The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix (c), "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles, & Big Zo (w/Josh Ashcraft). A very good match. A lot of back and forth action between all four. In the end, Zo is on the ropes ready to deliver a Zo Bomb to Stu. Stu rolls out of the ring and Matrix gets on the apron and hits some kicks to Zo's head to knock him to the mat. He goes up top and hits the swanton bomb, but Robbie runs in and throws Matrix into the ringpost.
He then takes the pinfall on Zo for the 3 to become NEW OVW TELEVISION CHAMPION!
After the match, Zo & Josh get into it, and Shannon the Dude makes fun of Matrix "coming up short".
Then Big Jon comes out and takes the mic. He is angry that while he was tending to his partner, Justin Smooth, Rocco Bellagio was gloating about what he did. He calls out Rocco and wants to finish this once and for all. He wants Rocco in the main event at the February 4 SNS. Rocco says he will do him the favor, but he has to do him a favor and put his career on the line! Jon accepts and then they brawl to end the show.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Cardinal defeats Carlos Gabriel in a squash after hitting a codebreaker off his shoulders for the 3.

As always, thanks for reading!
