Cage arm drags Shane and hits a facebuster off his knee. He hits a scissor kick and pins for 2. Shane rakes his eyes and tags Royal. He runs into some arm drags from Cage, and Cage locks in an armbar. Billy tags in and continues the armbar. Royal shoulders him into the corner. He throws him to the opposite corner, Billy leaps over him, and hits a cross body for 2. Billy with a slam and legdrop for 2. He tags Cage in, but Royal rakes his eyes. Royal tags Shane and he runs in to a drop toehold. Cage uppercuts him in the corner. Shane reverses a throw, catches a boot, and kicks Cage in the back. Royal runs in and hits a backstabber. Shane hits a running boot to Cage twice in the face seated in the corner. Royal tags in and runs into a boot and elbow, but knees Cage in the gut. He knees Cage in the face, then tags in Shane. Shane comes in and hits the double foot stomp. He chops Cage hard in the corner, then Royal tags in and does the same. He hits a snapmare and locks Cage in a chinlock. He tags Shane in and they do a wishbone on Cage. Jessie chokes Cage across the rope while Shane has the ref distracted. Shane slams Cage. He throws Cage off the ropes, but Cage hits a high knee. Both men tag. Billy comes in with dropkicks to Royal, and a clothesline to Shane. Cage comes back in, and him & Billy throw the Bad Boys into each other. They both roll them up for 2. Shane throws Cage to the outside, and Royal hits Billy with a samoan drop. Shane goes up and hits the frog splash for the 3.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey, Ron Hed, & Shannon the Dude are on commentary, and Ron is the ring announcer.

Trevor Steele defeats Justin Smooth. The two lock-up all around the ring. Off the ropes, Smooth hits Steele with 3 shoulder blocks to take him off his feet. He locks in a headlock, but Steele reverses. Off the ropes, Steele now hits Smooth with 3 shoulder blocks. He misses a charge in the corner and Smooth works over Steele's arm and shoulder. Steele comes back with clotheslines and a big boot, but runs into a spinebuster. Smooth forearms Steele in the corner, but Steele reverses and goes to town on Smooth, so much so that he accidentally hits referee Joe Wheeler. As Steele checks on Joe, Smooth rolls out and grabs a sheet of plywood from under the ring. Big Jon comes out and big boots him and rolls him back in. Steele hits Smooth with a powerbomb for the 3.

The Tag Buddies come out, and they are tired of the waiting game. They want to know who "HE" is. If the Circus wants the titles, come take them from them. Dapper Dan Van Zandt comes out and says "HE" is here. The "Mad Man of the Midway" and "Devil of Hardcore" is Mad Man Pondo...
OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: "The Van Zandt Family Circus": Dapper Dan Van Zandt & Mad Man Pondo (w/Scarlet & Little Damion) defeat "The Tag Buddies": Adam Revolver & "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles (c). The Circus attacks the Buddies, but they reverse them into each other. They work over Dan's arm, but he gets Pondo in. Pondo takes Adam down and works him over. Pondo tags Dan in. Adam tries to fight out of their corner, but he runs into a side slam from Dan. Dan throws him to the outside and hits him. Back inside, Pondo comes in and locks Adam in a chinlock. Adam starts fighting out, but Dan knees in the back from the apron, and Pondo clotheslines him. Both men tag. Stu hits a healing slap and a shoulder tackle. He hits another "be healed" off the ropes, and locks in a submission. Scarlet distracts the ref. Damion gets in, but Adam gets in and throws him from the ring. Pondo then hits Adam out of the ring, grabs a stop sign, and blasts Stu in the head. The Circus gets the 3 and we have NEW OVW SOUTHERN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!

"The King of Hairstyle" Robbie Walker comes out with a neckbrace and taped ribs and tells Torey Payne that they are both victims of senseless and violent acts from her boy toy Tyler Matrix. Due to the pain and suffering he is going through, he is asking for the removal of Matrix from War Games. He says Matrix is saying that he won't walk out of War Games, but he is going to make sure that Matrix doesn't walk in!

***Previous to this match, a video clip will air showing Maria James attacking and defeating Jessie Belle at a P.F. Changs during the past week to become the new OVW Women's Champion.
OVW WOMEN'S TITLE MATCH: Jessie Belle defeats Maria James (c). Jessie attacks Maria as she enters the ring and hits a botched reverse DDT for 2. She connects with a second reverse DDT to get the 3.
As Jessie celebrates, Izza Belle Smothers returns and slaps Jessie in the face. She then hits a pumphandle powerbomb for the 3 and Izza Belle is now the NEW OVW WOMEN'S CHAMPION!

Big Zo (w/"Hood Ninja" Hyzaya & Josh Ashcraft) defeats Houdini. Houdini tries some kicks to Zo's leg, but doesn't faze him. Zo hits a big clothesline, followed by a powerbomb. He pins, but stops the count at 2. He delivers a 2nd powerbomb and the ref calls for the bell saying Houdini can't continue.
After the match, Zo delivers a 3rd powerbomb to Houdini as officials run out. Zo takes a few of them out and then goes to powerbomb referee Jamie Lynn.
Trevor Steele runs out and knocks Zo from the ring, and then hits Hyzaya with a powerbomb.

Rudy Switchblade & "The Party Starter" Bud Dwight defeat OVW Heavyweight Champion "The Show Stealer" Rocco Bellagio & OVW Television Champion "Shotgun" Tony Gunn. Gunn & Rocco attack Rudy & Bud as they enter the ring. Rudy & Rocco exchange blows, and Rudy hurricanranas Rocco into the corner. Bud hits Gunn, and Gunn & Rocco retreat. Bud hits a hip toss when Gunn gets back in. He goes off the ropes, and Rocco kicks him. Gunn hits Bud to the outside. Rocco tags in and clubs Bud in the back. He knees him in the gut, and throws head first into the corner. Gunn tags in and shoulders Bud in the corner. He locks in a headlock, but Bud flips him over. He goes off the ropes, but Bud catches him with a belly-to-belly suplex. Rocco tags in and locks in a sleeper. Bud elbows out, ducks a big boot, and connects with a high knee. He hits the Hangover, and both men are down. They both tag, and Rudy catches Gunn with a flurry of chops. He kicks Gunn in the head and hits a suplex slam for 2 as Rocco runs in to break it up. Rocco knocks Bud off the apron, and Rudy dropkicks Rocco in the back to the outside. Rudy dropkicks Gunn into the corner and tags Bud, who hits a big boot to the face from the apron. He hits a flying clothesline, but Rocco pulls Rudy off the apron and goes in and breaks the count. Rudy pulls Rocco out and they fight on the outside as Gunn tries to lock the YTO in on Bud. Bud reverses into a rollup for the 3.
After the match, Gunn attacks Bud as Rocco & Rudy fight to the back. Big Jon & Justin Smooth are out and fighting, then Tyler Matrix & Robbie Walker, then the Van Zandt Family Circus & Tag Buddies.
Dean Hill comes out and says he had been thinking about who would get the final spots in War Games, and it looks like the problem fixed itself. It will be the Circus & Tag Buddies getting the final spots. As for right now, there are 5 animals in the ring, 5 on the outside, tear each other's heads off. They continue fighting and the show ends with Big Jon, Bud Dwight, the Tag Buddies, & Tyler Matrix standing tall in the ring.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"The Young Lion" Tyler Matrix defeats Little Damion (w/Scarlet). Damion tries biting Matrix. Matrix shoves him off and kicks him in the head. He knocks Damion out of the ring. Scarlet tries to get in between Matrix & Damion, allowing Damion to get up on the apron. He flies off, but Matrix catches him and hits a belly-to-back suplex. He rolls Damion in and goes up top. Damion grabs the ref, and Scarlet trips Matrix up on the top rope. Damion hits a neckbreaker, then headbutts him. He goes for a flying headbutt, but Matrix moves. He hits a kick to the head, the drive-by, and finishes him off with the senton bomb.

As always, thanks for reading!

  1. Hopefully with Izza returning, we can see an end to this 24/7 nonsense with their title, but I see her dropping it next week just as easily as the other 3 women have done.

    1. I don't mind the 24/7 rules to get some interest in the division its better than having an occasional match here and there but I think that every title defence having some sort of stipulation would be better but at least the Women's title is on every TV taping.

    2. It would be fine for a championship that had this rule to begin with, but not a title as important as the Womens Title. Granted you are right with them trying to bring more interest to their women by doing this, but if it weren't for Izza Bell/Mickie Knuckles returning, it would have lost interest in the next few weeks.

How many times can Jessie drop the belt to Maria for her to drop it back to Jessie, then to Scarlet, then Maria, then Jessie again. Jessie will be a 30 time Womans Champion by the end of the year if this keeps up. Seeing the same 3 women becoming champions nonstop is very dull. I may work or a males title because there's more men in OVW, but there's only 3 regular women there right now so it just doesn't work nearly as well.
