OVW TV #867: "Tag Team Turmoil"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, March 30, 2016. This episode can be seen on WBNA-21 in the Louisville area on Saturday at 11AM and 10PM, and online on Monday at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Big Jon & Mitch Huff face Rocco Bellagio & Daniel Eads in tag action, General Pope & Marcus Anthony have their contract signing for the steel cage match at SNS, plus much more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"The Technical Titan" Eric Locker defeats Justin Smooth. Smooth with a side headlock early. Locker comes back with a release german suplex, some elbows to the face after throwing Smooth off the ropes, and hits Smooth's head into all 4 corner turnbuckles. He hits a snap suplex and locks in a headlock. Smooth elbows out and hits a splash on Locker in the corner. He throws Locker off the ropes, but Locker spins around him and nails him with the T-Bone Suplex for the 3.

Trevor Steele squashes The Red Flyer after hitting an F-5.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 11AM and 10PM (check local listings) and on OVW's official website Mondays at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

Gilbert Corsey, Shannon the Dude, & Ron Hed are on commentary, and Ron is also the ring announcer.

8-MAN TAG: "The Tag Buddies": Adam Revolver & Rev. Stuart Miles, Rump Thump, & Tyler Matrix defeat "The Bad Boys Club": Shane Andrews & Randy Royal, Eric Locker, & Nate Stone. There is friction early as Revolver & Stu make quick tags in and out with each other, but not Rump or Matrix. Rump & Matrix tag themselves in eventually. The Tag Buddies argue with Rump & Matrix, allowing the Bad Boys Club, Locker, & Stone to attack all 4 from behind. The fight spills out of the ring, leaving Rump & Stone. Rump hits the Thump on Stone, and Matrix gets back in, going up top, and connects with a senton bomb for the 3.

"The Ladies' Man" Leon Shelly defeats Dapper Dan Van Zandt (w/Ringmaster, Little Damion, & Scarlet) after sliding out of a death valley driver attempt and rolling Dan up for the 3.
After the match, Ringmaster attacks and tries to bulldog Leon. Leon throws him off into Dan and Dan & Ringmaster fall out of the ring. Scarlet sneaks in to low blow Leon again, but Leon catches her. He acts as if he will kiss her, but then lets her fall to the mat. Damion is trying to get in, but his chain is caught up in the ropes.
Leon grabs a mic and says next week they are signing the divorce papers.

Tony Gunn defeats "The Party Starter" Bud Dwight. This was another very good back and forth match with several reversals and near falls. In the end, Gunn is going for a reverse DDT, but Dwight slides out and goes for the Hangover, Gunn slides off and rolls him up for the 3.
After the match, Dwight says Gunn got him this week, but he got Gunn last week. How about they have the rubber match at the Saturday Night Special? Gunn agrees to it.

"The Chosen One" Mitch Huff & Big Jon vs. "The Show Stealer" Rocco Bellagio & Daniel Eads ends in a no-contest.
Jon & Rocco fight on the outside. Inside, Huff is down, and Eads grabs the Athlete's Foot spray. He tries to spray Huff in the eyes, but Huff ducks, and Eads sprays the ref. Huff then goes for the Athlete's Foot, but Eads moves, and Huff kicks the blinded ref. Another ref comes out and calls for the bell.
After the bell, Eads hits the Weight of the World on Huff. Jon gets in and goes to chokeslam Eads, but Rocco gets back in and boots Jon in the face.
Eads & Rocco stand tall to end the show.

Dean Hill comes out with some officials and wrestlers to make a wall between General Pope & Marcus Anthony for their contract signing. After Pope & Marcus come to the ring, Dean says the contract is finalized, but he cannot officially sanction the match. If there are any injuries, it cannot fall on OVW. This means the match can still happen, but OVW will not be held liable. Dean says all the stipulations are in, and Pope signs. Marcus then signs without reading the stipulations. Pope had added that it would not just be a steel cage, but a Lethal Lockdown match, meaning all weapons are legal!
Pope grabs a chair and throws it at Marcus' head and they brawl. Marcus hits a spinebuster to Pope on the floor at ringside. He sets up 2 chairs in the ring for his one-armed powerbomb, but Pope slides off and low blows him.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

"The Van Zandt Family Circus": Ringmaster, Dapper Dan Van Zandt, & Little Damion (w/Scarlet) defeat The Assassin & "Top Flight": Brother Reed & Mickey Muscles after hitting their double-team finisher.
