Who's Buying OVW?

As we head into tonight's BIG OVW TV taping, questions continue to swirl about Danny Davis' selling of OVW. Many are surprised that Danny would turn over the reigns to his company, but many more continue to speculate on who the new owner could be. OVWmania has some possibilities

JIM CORNETTE: Immediately, most people started wondering if Jim Cornette could be involved. After all, he had been working with OVW recently and was acting chairman while Danny Davis was in the ring wrestling. It would seem like a natural fit for Jim to take full control, and he already has Danny Davis' trust that he is leaving the company in good hands.

JEFF JARRETT: How about someone else who knows about Danny Davis and Ohio Valley Wrestling? Jarrett may be busy with Global Force Wrestling and working with Impact Wrestling, but he could take a page out of the history books and use OVW as a training ground for future stars of his GFW promotion. He also was at OVW recently teaming with Danny Davis and getting a good look at the arena. Since he also goes back a long time with Danny, he would be another man that Danny could trust leaving his legacy and promotion in the hands of.

DIXIE CARTER: Yes, I said it. You might be snickering or asking yourself how this could be possible. Dixie doesn't want to get left behind in the fold. Between GFW, Ring of Honor, & WWE, she needs to make a bold move that would help the future of her company. Buying out OVW and continuing to produce future stars would help TNA IMPACT grow to new heights.

VINCE McMAHON: Speaking of WWE, why not Vince? Vince doesn't want competition, so he could buy up OVW and continue to try and have a total monopoly over the entire wrestling world. Plus, he knows his big money draws like John Cena, Randy Orton, & Brock Lesnar...were all OVW alumni.

KENNY BOLIN: Maybe we need to think smaller scale. Who else knows OVW and would have the funds to take over the company? How about someone who has been successful selling t-shirts and headphones on his own? That's right, "the Starmaker". Bolin knows all about OVW, and knows how to create superstars. After all, he only managed the likes of John Cena, Rico, Bobby Lashley, the Miz, and Mark Henry to name a few.

AL SNOW: Someone else who has been around OVW a lot in the past is former WWE/TNA superstar Al Snow. Snow has competed in OVW, and was a long-time announcer. The "Snow-Man" would definitely be trusted by Danny Davis and would know how to keep things on course after Danny left.

GILBERT CORSEY: Danny Davis also has a lot of trust in current announcer and local news anchor Gilbert Corsey. Gilbert has been at OVW for a while now and knows all the ins-and-outs of the company. He has surely learned a lot from Danny and broadcast partner, Dean Hill, and could use that knowledge to take OVW to new heights.

These are just a few possibilities of who might be in charge of OVW if Danny Davis is truly turning over the keys tonight. There is, of course, a way to find out sooner than later. Be at the Davis Arena, 4400 Shepherdsville Rd. tonight at 7PM with $5 for admission and see what happens live!

  1. I think Jim Cornette would be the best choice, as he knows the ins and outs of the business and already has a rapport with the fans. Jeff Jarrett would be a good choice, but I'd hate to see OVW swallowed up by a bigger organization. As for Dixie Carter and Vince MacMahon, forget it. I'd rather see Josh Ashcraft run it before either of those two. Personally, I think they should bring in Bill Dundee, but I don't think that's going to happen.

  2. Al Snow. Then "Head" could be Director of Operations. Or how about "Ralphie"? Look what he did for Tony Gunn

  3. I wonder, will the new owner keep the name OVW, and Davis arena? I'd hate to see that change.

  4. My guesses are Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett, Jim Cornette, Kenny or Chris Bolin, Al Snow, Rob Conway, or someone like Michael Titus or Timmy Danger. Or even Round Peg Promotions Silvio or Sharpe. Or even another alum.

  5. One reason why I guessed Ironman Rob Conway is because he teamed up with Mr. Davis at the SNS & he got Mr. Davis to trust him; when he & Mr. Davis won the match as a tag team, Mr. Davis saw alot of promise in him; that's why my guess was Conway because it makes perfect sense that he'd be chosen because he wanted to make OVW bigger & better as he said in that one episode where he came back; he also kept tabs on OVW & he wanted it to stay open, stating how much the wrestling industry needed OVW- it's true- the wrestling industry still desperately needs OVW because OVW is THE GREATEST WRESTLING SCHOOL IN THE WHOLE WORLD; OVW has made the greatest stars & it needs to stay around forever. OVW 4 LIFE.

    1. I stand corrected after all of my guesses; however, the actual person who is talked about on the next posting, was actually one of my guesses; I just forgot to mention them. Sorry; but the new owner is a good choice! :) Still OVW FOR LIFE. Harvard of Pro Wrestling 4-Ever! Can't wait to see what happens next! :) COOL!
