OVW TV #785: "World's Most Dangerous Ref"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, September 3, 2014. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Michael Hayes & OVW Champion Melvin Maximus square off against Marcus Anthony & OVW TV Champion Adam Revolver, Cliff Compton returns, OVW Southern Tag Team Champions Silvi-O-livencia are in action against the Wild Boyz, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

The Congregation comes out and "The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles says the good word for today is 'sacrifice'. The fans like to think that Jamin Olivencia, Melvin Maximus, Rump Thump, & Ryan Howe care about them, but they don't. They have never sacrificed anything for them.
The Assassin comes out and has heard enough. He goes to give the massive clothesline to Miles, but Miles moves and pulls Jade Dawson into harm's way, and Jade is taken out as Miles escapes the ring.

The Bodyguy vs. "Ram Jam" Jonathan Ramser.
Bodyguy & Ram Jam exchang side headlocks early. Ram Jam starts to rally and hits Bodyguy's head into the turnbuckles. He delivers a back body drop and locks in a Boston crab, but Bodyguy grabs the ropes. Ram Jam doesn't hear the ref's count and the ref has to pull him off. As Ram Jam tries to figure out what the ref is motioning to him, Bodyguy nails Ram Jam from behind and delivers a pedigree for the 3.
WINNER: BODYGUY by pinfall.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 9AM and 10PM (check local listings).

Dean Hill & Gilbert Corsey are on commentary, Shannon the Dude is ring announcer.

Backstage, Michael Titus is on the phone when he is approached by Timmy Danger. Danger tells him that tonight's main event will consist of Adam Revolver & Marcus Anthony vs. Michael Hayes & Melvin Maximus.

The show kicks off with the return of Cliff Compton! Cliff says he is home after traveling all over the world. He says he was constantly asked about when he would return to OVW. He is back for his final "hurrah" and can't think of a better way to go out than becoming the OVW Heavyweight Champion again.
Titus Enterprises comes out and Michael Titus says that after the Saturday Night Special, Marcus Anthony will once again be champion, and Cliff should just retire and go home. Cliff calls Adam Revolver "Ms. Clean", calls Marcus a baboon, and then says if Titus wants some, he'll rip off his "Conan O'Brien" hairstyled head and punt it into the Ohio River.
The odds are evened up as Michael Hayes & Melvin Maximus join in the ring. Cliff says he knows they have a tag match later and asks Michael if he's a gambling man.
Hayes says he is tonight and says how about a stipulation where the man who gets the pinfall, will also get to pick a stipulation for their respective match at the Special. Titus agrees.

Leon Shelly & Deonta Davis vs. "TerreMex": Randy Terrez & the Mexicutioner.
TerreMex dominates, slamming and splashing Deonta. Leon gets tagged in and doesn't fare much better. TerreMex hits their double-team facebuster on Leon for the 3.
WINNERS: TERREMEX by pinfall.
After the match, Gilbert interviews TerreMex. Terrez says he had to help Mexicutioner get away from the sham that is Titus Enterprises. He says they also have a goal of becoming tag team champions. Mexicutioner speaks in Spanish.

Backstage, we see Jamin Olivencia in his locker room. Timmy Danger walks in, but Jamin slams him into a locker and tells him he doesn't like Timmy and was cost his top spot because of Timmy. He says they aren't friends. Chris Silvio walks in and says it doesn't matter if they're friends, but the two of them are partners and he needs him out in the ring next.

"The Wild Boyz": Eddie F. Diamond & "Party Starter" Bud Dwight vs. "Silvi-O-livencia": Jamin Olivencia & "The Psychadelic Superstar" Chris Silvio (w/Mary Jane).
Eric Locker & Shiloh Jonze are on commentary. Jamin & EFD start out and match each other early. Silvio tags himself in and runs in into a drop toehold. He is worked over for a bit until Jamin is tagged back in. Jamin hits his running knee in the corner and jumping clothesline to Dwight. He connects with the Standing O, but EFD breaks the pin. Silvio gets back in and hits the Psychadelic Superpunch to EFD, which knocks EFD into Jamin. Jamin yells at Silvio, but they get on the same page to hit the "Hi-Lo" to Dwight for the 3.
WINNERS: SILVI-O-LIVENCIA by pinfall.
Locker & Shiloh run in after the match and attack Silvi-O-livencia.

Dapper Dan vs. "Primetime" Robbie Walker.
Dan dominates early, hitting Walker, delivering a backdrop, punching him, and delivering a side slam. Walker comes back, though, and delivers a super kick to the chin for the 3.
WINNER: WALKER by pinfall.

Backstage, Michael Hayes & Melvin maximus are talking match stipulations, when Timmy Danger walks up. Hayes says he doesn't trust Danger, but Danny Davis has given him a second chance. He said actions speak louder than words as him & Melvin leave, leaving Timmy to ponder over what was said.

Marcus Anthony & Adam Revolver (w/Michael Titus) vs. Michael Hayes & "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus.
Hayes is worked over a large part of the match, though he tagged Melvin twice, and Josh Ashcraft didn't see it. Revolver uses the title on Melvin, as Melvin had Marcus in a bearhug. Again, Josh doesn't see it. Hayes comes in and punches Adam and takes the title. Josh pulls it away, and Hayes gets in his face. Marcus goes to splash Hayes from behind, but Hayes moves last second, and Marcus squashes Josh. Hayes locks the Liberty Lock on Adam, and Timmy Danger runs out with a referee shirt as Adam taps, and Danger calls for the bell.
WINNERS: MICHAEL & MELVIN by submission.
After the match, Michael Hayes tells Adam that their match at the Special will be a submission match.

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Matches:

Elvis Pridemoore vs. J. Best.
A quick match that sees Elvis catch Best in a small package for the 3.
WINNER: ELVIS by pinfall.

Shiloh Jonze & Eric Locker vs. "TerreMex": Randy Terrez & the Mexicutioner.
Terrez gets worked over until he can make the hot tag to Mex. Mex clotheslines and rams Shiloh in the corner. He hits a massive spinebuster, but Locker yells at Terrez, which distracts the ref. As the ref keeps Terrez from entering the ring, Locker gets in and hits the T-Bone Suplex on Mex. The ref turns around as Shiloh makes the cover for the 3.
WINNERS: LOCKER & JONZE by pinfall.

    1. Unfortunately, the women's division is in flux at the moment. With Rebel traveling with TNA, Tapa & Mary Elizabeth traveling and working other promotions, there is not much that OVW can do.

    2. On a positive note the tag team division in OVW is probably the best it has been since I've been watching which isn't that long compared to how long the promotion has been around but im enjoying watching the tag matches.
