OVW TV #766: "Danger International Expands"

This is the OVW Report from Wednesday, April 23, 2014. This episode can be seen online now at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, the tag tournament to crown new #1 contenders continues, Melvin Maximus defends the OVW TV Title in a Triple Threat, Tony Gunn continues his movement to end the Marauders, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

I always recommend watching the episode first before reading the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 9AM and 10PM (check local listings).

Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, & Michael Titus are on commentary and Titus is also the ring announcer for the evening.

The show starts off with backstage interviewer Stephon J. Baxter stopping OVW Referee Josh Ashcraft. We find out that Josh has been fined for the controversial ending of last week's main event.

J. Best (w/Deonta Davis) vs. Paredyse.
Paredyse pulls out some Three Stooges eye pokes and slaps and grabs Best's backside. Deonta interferes and allows Best to get the upperhand for a moment, but Paredyse chops his way back. Deonta grabs Paredyse again, but Paredyse breaks free, and Best runs into Deonta. Paredyse finishes Best off with a butt bump and the twisting neckbreaker.
WINNER: PAREDYSE by pinfall.
MY VIEW: The announcers mentioned that Paredyse will be facing the "Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles & "Altar Boy" at the May 10 SNS and asked if this was essentially a tune-up having to deal with Best & Deonta. Will Paredyse be able to do the same with the odds stacked against him at SNS?

Gilbert Corsey interviews Mohamad Ali Vaez. Ali says he had last week's main event won against the Mexicutioner, but that Adam Revolver keeps sticking his nose in his business. He went and got a match signed for tonight against Adam, and then he can go back to focusing on Danger International. Adam comes out and says he is just trying to watch Ali's back and wants the match called off, but Ali says that every time Adam "watches his back", Ali ends up on his back. He says the match is happening.
MY VIEW: You can't blame Ali for feeling the way he does about Adam's involvement in his matches, but Adam also brings up a good point that Ali needs backup against Danger International.

"The Party Starter" Bud Dwight vs. OVW Heavyweight Champion Marcus Anthony (w/Timmy Danger).
Marcus grabs Dwight by his throat and pushes him in the corner. He splashes him in the corner. Dwight tries to kick back a couple times, but Marcus comes right back at him and slams him down. He hits the Gamma Punch, followed by the Crimson Omen, and this one is over quick.
WINNER: MARCUS by submission.
Gilbert Corsey interviews Timmy Danger. Danger says he may be banned from the arena, he can be banned from planet Earth for all he cares, but the fact is nothing will stop Marcus. He tells Jamin Olivencia that once he is locked in the steel cage and then locked in the Crimson Omen, he will be done. Gilbert then asks Marcus about being in his first cage match. Marcus says "First time?". Marcus says he just got out of a cage when he first arrived at OVW. He says this isn't the zoo or Animal Planet, and Jamin is going to wish he was not in the cage with him.
MY VIEW: With or without Danger, you can't take away what Marcus is capable of in the ring. He is a beast and looks ready for his cage match with Jamin at the May 10 SNS.

OVW TELEVISION TITLE TRIPLE THREAT: Eddie F. Diamond vs. The Bodyguy vs. "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus (c).
It is explained on commentary that this is a triple threat, because there was supposed to be a #1 contender's match at a show in E-Town, KY last Saturday that was postponed between Diamond & Bodyguy. It is also noted that the Bodyguard is not at ringside. Bodyguy attacks Melvin before the bell. EFD is waiting and Bodyguy spins around and is hit with some blows from him. EFD charges Bodyguy by the ropes, but Bodyguy pulls the top rope down, and EFD flies to the floor. Bodyguy poses, but turns around into an awaiting Melvin who slaps him in the Bearhug for the tapout.
WINNER and STILL OVW TV CHAMPION: MELVIN by submission.
MY VIEW: A triple threat is a tough challenge, but Melvin keeps right on winning. Who will be the next to step up and challenge him, and can he be stopped?

Backstage interviewer Stephon J. Baxter is with Danger International. They discuss the main event between Adam Revolver & Mohamad Ali Vaez. Ali comes in and says he had Mexicutioner beat last week, Dylan Bostic beat at the last Special, and looks at Marcus Anthony and says that if he keeps mean-mugging him, he will be more than happy to take that weight (OVW Heavyweight Title) off his shoulder. Danger asks him who he thinks he is. He says Ali is in their locker room by himself. Adam Revolver pops up and says Ali's not alone, which aggravates Ali. Ali says he doesn't want him around and will settle this in the ring. Danger says they will enjoy picking the bones after the match.
MY VIEW: Will the numbers game force Ali to trust and team up with Adam again?

Rev. Stuart Miles comes to the ring with the Altar Boy. Today's good word is "conquer". He says he tried to be nice last week, but some people won't listen and don't want help. He says Paredyse refused help and will be conquered. He says evil will be conquered, and that goes for the evil in the souls of everyone in the arena. His mic gets cut off by Paredyse. Paredyse slides in the ring between Pastor's legs and grabs the Altar Boy. He puts the robe over Altar Boy's head and kicks Miles, catching the good book he loses grasp of. He gives Miles a right hook. He then grabs Altar Boy, spanks him, and hits him with the book.
MY VIEW: Will Paredyse be hoping he's an all-supreme deity with the odds stacked against him at the SNS?

OVW #1 CONTENDERS TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT: "The Marauders": "Rudo" Raul LaMotta & Shiloh Jonze vs. "Two Hicks With Sticks": Trailer Park Trash & Flash Flanagan.
Shiloh makes Raul start and refuses to tag in until Raul is finally able to get the upperhand on Trash. Trash is worked over for a bit until getting the hot tag to Flash. Shiloh leaves the ring, and leaves Raul to fend for himself. Flash hits a springboard guillotine leg drop for the 3 on Raul.
WINNERS: TRASH & FLASH by pinfall.
It will be "The Skywalkers" vs. "Two Hicks With Sticks" in the finals next week. Shiloh comes back to the ring and says it is time for another round of consequences with Raul. He tells him to get on his knees as Tony Gunn's music hits. Gunn says he can tell Raul wants out and is fed up with the Marauders. He tells him to leave Shiloh. Shiloh says Raul is not a quitter and knows his livelihood and his family's livelihood depends on the Marauders. He tells Raul to tell Gunn how much he loves the Marauders. Raul takes the mic, says he hates the Marauders, and quits! He shoves the mic into Shiloh's chest and joins Gunn & Nick Dumeyer at ringside. Gunn says he warned Shiloh that he would bring his world crumbling down. He said now to eliminate the head of the snake, the only Marauder left standing, he will face Shiloh at the May 10 SNS and end the Marauders once and for all.
MY VIEW: Will Gunn be able to end the Marauders at the SNS, or could Shiloh try to recruit some new members to his squad? And who has the better chance of advancing to the OVW Southern Tag Team Title Match against the Mexicutioner & Dylan Bostic? The young and high-flying duo of the Skywalkers, or the experienced and crafty duo of Flash & Trash?

Adam Revolver vs. Mohamad Ali Vaez.
We have a very good main event that goes back and forth between two long OVW mainstays. At one point, Ali lands awkwardly on his leg and Gilbert Corsey says he knows he heard something snap or pop. Adam focuses on this most of the match, but looks distraught every time he inflicts more pain to Ali and his bad knee. Ali starts to make a comeback, but Danger International runs out. Timmy Danger distracts referee Josh Ashcraft, and Ali is looking at the Mexicutioner. On the other side of the ring, Dylan Bostic hands Adam a steel chair and Adam blasts Ali from behind to get the 3.
WINNER: REVOLVER by pinfall.
All 4 men (Bostic, Revolver, Mexicutioner, & Marcus Anthony) beat up on Ali as the show fades to black, with the assumption that Adam Revolver is the newest member of Danger International.
MY VIEW: We know Marcus has his hands full with Jamin Olivencia at the next SNS, but who can help Ali in his battle against the remaining members of Danger International?

This ended the TV taping.

Dark Matches:

"Queen of Rings" Lei'd Tapa & Royal Red def. Dapper Dan & Jessie Belle.

Mexicutioner def. Elvis Pridemoore.

"The Pastor of Disaster" Rev. Stuart Miles def. "Ram Jam" Jonathan Ramser.

The Skywalkers def. The Bodyguys.

This episode of OVW TV is online now! As always, thanks for reading!
