OVW TV #714: "Coalition Carnage"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, April 24, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, new Women's Champion, Trina, is in action, the Coalition talks about their triumphs and ends up with some surprise opponents in a special 12-man tag, Ryan Howe wants to get his hands on Dylan Bostic & Doug Williams which he does in a tag team match, Rudy Switchblade goes 1-on-1 with Cliff Compton, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

Sosay vs. Jessie Belle.
Sosay made her Davis Arena return tonight. They locked up and Jessie Belle locked Sosay up in her legs and twisted around the ring with her. Jessie hit the bronco buster on Sosay in the corner. As Sosay pulled herself up, Jessie charged back at her, but Sosay moved, and Jessie Belle ran into the turnbuckle. Sosay kicks her and stretches her in a submission move. She breaks the hold and throws Jessie in the corner. She charges, but Jessie moves and rolls her up for 3.
WINNER: JESSIE BELLE by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Jessie Belle continues to pick up wins as she looks to get back into the title hunt against new champion, Trina.

4-CORNER TAG TEAM MATCH: The VIP Club's Matt King & Austin Bradley (w/"VIP" Joe Rosa, Roberto De Luna, & J. Best) vs. Lambda Lambda Lambda: Stephon J. Baxter III & Albert Einstein Baxter II vs. The Mascara Mafia: Espy & Paredyse vs. The Mobile Homers: Ted "Manbeast" McNaler & Adam Revolver (w/Brittany Devore).
Paredyse starts out with Albert and locks him in an armbar. Espy comes in and hits the arm and kicks him. Paredyse comes back in and drags Albert by his suspenders back to his corner. Espy tags back and goes to give Albert a wedgie, but he rolls through and kicks Espy in the leg. Espy goes to poke him in the eyes, forgetting Albert is wearing glasses. Albert tags Stephon, and they try a double hip toss on Espy, but Espy blocks it and rams them into each other. Espy goes off the ropes, but is caught by a double backflip. Matt King tags himself in and him and Austin work over Stephon. The Mobile Homers make it into the ring and begin cleaning house. They take out the VIP Club, give the Mascara Mafia atomic drops into each other, and then hit the Double Wide on King for the pin and the win.
WINNERS: MOBILE HOMERS by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Ted & Adam are picking up quite a bit of steam in the tag team division. Are they future OVW Southern Tag Team Title contenders?

Nikki St. John & Taeler Hendrix vs. Hannah & Holly Blossom.
Nikki & Taeler attack the Blossoms and spend the early part of the match working over Hannah in their corner and keeping her from making the tag to Holly. They choke her, and Taeler delivers a big chop. Taeler tries to throw Nikki into Hannah, but Hannah jumps over Nikki, ducks Taeler, and makes the tag to Holly. Holly comes in on fire with clotheslines and hits a double dropkick off the ropes. The Blossoms hit their finisher on Nikki to get the pin.
WINNERS: BLOSSOMS by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Twin magic prevails once again as the Femme Fatale division continues to grow.

Bodyguy vs. 4M: "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus.
Bodyguy comes out saying someone stole his robe. 4M comes out in his "Mister Marvelous" robe as the opponent. 4M throws Bodyguy down. Bodyguy tries an armbar, but 4M reverses. Bodyguy runs off the ropes, but runs into 4M and knocks himself down. He tries 3 slams, but can't budge 4M. 4M delivers 3 big slams of his own. Bodyguy tries to throw 4M over the top rope, but again he doesn't budge, and 4M throws Bodyguy out over the top rope which is an automatic disqualification.
WINNER: BODYGUY by DQ.
MY TAKE: Bodyguy actually outsmarted 4M and came out with a win after being destroyed the entire match.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 12 noon with replays Wednesdays at 9PM after WWE Main Event.

The Coalition (minus Crimson) comes to the ring to open the show. Jason Wayne talks about ridding OVW of evil-doers so that the fans have a group they can be proud of. He says their mission is called Operation OVW Freedom, and so far they have removed the French foreign spy Alex Silva from OVW, Benedict Sam Shaw, and last week they took out Johnny Spade, and James "Moose" Thomas. Michael Hayes comes out and is hot, as he wants to fight the Coalition himself. Wayne reminds him he can't touch them since he's part of the Board of Directors. Hayes says he knows some guys who want to get their hands on them, though.
Rockstar Spud, Randy Royal, Tony Gunn, & Eddie Diamond come out. Wayne says that's still 6 against 4. Rob Terry's music hits to make 5, and then surprisingly, Jay Bradley's music hits to make 6. He says the Coalition messed up his plans with Spade & Moose to make a statement, and he wants a piece of them. Tonight, we have a 12-man tag for the main event.

Lovely Lylah vs. Trina.
Trina with a hip toss, slam, and finisher and this was a pretty quick squash for the Women's Champ.
WINNER: TRINA by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Trina's showing she ain't messing around when it comes to taking care of business.

"The Great" Cliff Compton vs. Rudy Switchblade.
Rudy & Cliff lock up, Rudy drops Cliff, and Rudy tries for the elevated Boston crab early, but Cliff kicks him off. Cliff hits him in the corner and throws him off the ropes, but Rudy catches himself in the ropes, and as Cliff charges, Rudy catches him with a back elbow. Rudy goes for the 10-count punches in the corner, but Cliff knocks him off after 4. He throws him hard into the opposite corner. He then chokes him across the ropes. He hammers Rudy across the back, as Rudy tries to fire back, but Cliff takes him down and locks in a chinlock. Rudy bites his way out and tries for the Boston crab again, but Cliff again kicks him off. Rudy takes Cliff back down and goes up top for the frog splash, but the Coalition runs out to the ring and shoves him off.
WINNER: RUDY by DQ.
After the match, Michael Hayes comes out and says no more of this. Cliff grabs a mic and says the Coalition has been looking for a new member and is joining them. The Coalition then beats down Cliff before being run off by Team OVW.
MY TAKE: It looks like Cliff will be out for a while as the Coalition continues to run all over OVW.

In the back, Heidi Lovelace is trying to tell Ryan Howe about the presents, but Howe is warming up and wants revenge on Doug Williams and Dylan Bostic. Taeler Hendrix walks up and asks what Heidi is doing with her man. Dylan Bostic walks in and Howe tries to get at Bostic, but Taeler is in between them yelling at Dylan, saying he ruins everything. We then see Epiphany cuddling with Eddie Diamond. Jay Bradley walks in and asks what he is doing. Jay says he doesn't speak ebonics, but says Eddie needs to focus on their match and not Epiphany. He tells him to leave Timmy Danger in the back as well. Jay walks into Rockstar Spud, and Spud says he doesn't trust Jay and will be keeping an eye on him. Tony Gunn tries to play peacemaker, and Randy Royal reminds Spud he still owes him a title shot. Jay then turns into Rob Terry and Rob says they have a chance to finally get their hands on the Coalition and need to work as a team. Jay walks away and says "Whatever".

Dylan Freak'n Bostic & Doug Williams vs. Ryan Howe & Jamin Olivencia.
Howe hits the sliding punch, some elbows, and a dropkick to Doug. Jamin tags in and fires away, hitting the jumping clothesline. He misses jumping at Doug in the corner, and Doug tags Dylan. Dylan runs in to an arm drag from Jamin. Jamin locks on an armbar, and Howe begs to tag in. He hits Dylan, but Dylan comes back and works over Howe in the corner as he & Doug go in and out with the ref holding Jamin back in his corner. Jamin finally makes it in and fights to the outside and to the back with Doug, and both men are counted out as Howe & Bostic continue to fight on the inside.
DOUBLE COUNTOUT.
Taeler Hendrix runs out and tells them to stop. She wants to get to the bottom of this once and for all. She asks Howe about the presents, and he says she's cute and all, but girls like her are a dime-a-dozen, and it wasn't him. He says she should ask Dylan, because he was probably jealous that she was dreaming about him every night. Dylan says it wasn't him, either. Taeler shoves them both and says if it wasn't either of them, who was it? Out walks Heidi Lovelace, and she grabs the mic, saying it was her!
MY TAKE: The grudge between Jamin & Doug continues on, but what about the shocker between Heidi & Taeler? Why was Heidi sending Taeler gifts?

The Coalition: Jason Wayne, Joe Coleman, Shiloh Jonze, Jack Black, Ghillie, & Raul LaMotta vs. Team OVW: Randy Royal, Rob Terry, Jay Bradley, Rockstar Spud, Tony Gunn, & Eddie Diamond (w/Timmy Danger).
A chaotic start as Team OVW makes a beeline to the ring and takes the fight to the Coalition. Every superstar from each team gets knocked out of the match one by one until it gets down to Big Rob & Jason Wayne. With Big Rob in control, the Coalition comes in with weapons and starts their destruction.
WINNERS: TEAM OVW by DQ.
The Coalition takes out all 6 men, and takes out Rudy Switchblade, the Mobile Homers, Lambda Lambda Lambda, Elvis Pridemoore, & Nick Dumeyer, who all come out to try and help. The Coalition stands tall to end the night.
MY TAKE: The Coalition made their presence felt again and have pretty much annihilated every member of the OVW locker room. What will Director of Operations Michael Hayes do? Who or what can be done to stop them?

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Match:

"Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz vs. Sam Shaw.
Shaw & Jessie lock up into the corner, and Shaw clean breaks. Jessie locks up again and shoves Shaw down. He locks him in a full nelson and slams him. He delivers a hip toss and hits a dropkick after throwing Shaw off the ropes. Shaw comes back with a dropkick of his own. He slams Jessie, but Jessie pokes him in the eye, and then takes out his knee. He chokes Shaw over the rope and hammers him across the chest. He throws him hard into the opposite corner. He locks Shaw in the abdominal stretch and elbows him in the ribcage. Shaw starts to fire back, but is caught by a knee to the gut. Jessie stomps him and then throws him in the corner. He charges, but is caught by an elbow. Shaw runs out of the corner, but Jessie catches him with an enziguri. Shaw kicks out at 2. Jessie shoulders him in the corner, and then hits his patented legdrop. Another 2 count. Shaw tries to roll Jessie up for a 2 count. He punches Jessie and hits a backdrop. He hits his backbreaker/neckbreaker combo, and goes up top for Breaking Point. Jessie rolls away, but Shaw lands on his feet and charges after Jessie, but runs into an uppercut. Jessie tries to pin with his feet on the ropes, but ref Chris Sharpe catches him. Jessie goes for a stunner, but Shaw reverses it into a codebreaker for the pin and win.
WINNER: SHAW by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Shaw is back and ready to roll.
