OVW TV #712: "BBQ, Boomsticks, & Big Wins"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, April 10, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Jamin Olivencia wants another rematch with Doug Williams, Sam Shaw wants to take on all 7 members of the Coalition, Rockstar Spud defends the TV Title against Cliff Compton once more, the Mobile Homers are in action, Taeler Hendrix gets a special gift that Dylan Bostic isn't happy about, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

The Mascara Mafia: Espy & Paredyse vs. Lambda Lambda Lambda: Stephon J. Baxter III & Albert Einstein Baxter II.
Paredyse gets bombarded with chants of "BBQ" after being showered in bbq sauce at the Saturday Night Special. Paredyse takes both Albert down, and the same to Stephon after he tags in. Paredyse tags in Espy, and they both give wedgies to the Baxters. Paredyse grabs their glasses and starts making fun of them. Paredyse & Espy each get ready to stomp on the glasses, but Albert & Stephon get up and wail away on them before they can do so. They then return the favor of wedgie-ing Paredyse & Espy. Stephon misses a butt bump in the corner on Paredyse, though, and after throwing Albert from the ring, he & Espy hit a double reverse russian leg sweep to finish Stephon off for the victory.
WINNERS: MASCARA by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Paredyse is obviously not a big fan of BBQ.

Aaron Sky vs. "Lonesome" Jay Bradley.
Bradley hits Sky in the gut, pulls him down by his hair, steps on Sky's hand, arguing with the referee about what is and isn't legal throughout. He works over Sky's arm, but Sky is able to catch him with an arm drag. Bradley comes back and hits the Boomstick, though, and gets the win.
WINNER: BRADLEY by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Jay's mission has been to make a statement, and he has been doing just that. What's next between him, Moose, & Johnny Spade?

Taeler Hendrix & Nikki St. John vs. Heidi Lovelace & Jessie Belle.
There was a lot of back and forth tags with a series of headlocks and armbars to open this match up. In the end, Nikki & Heidi each made tags to Taeler & Jessie Belle. Jessie clotheslined Taeler, ran off the ropes, and got kicked in the back by Nikki. As Taeler took control, Nikki ran around the ring and pulled Heidi off the apron. Taeler hit her finisher on Jessie Belle for the victory.
WINNERS: TAELER & NIKKI by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Taeler finally got a "W" back under her belt with the debuting Nikki. All 4 of these ladies will be watching to see what happens between Epiphany & Trina.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv and now on WBNA ion-21 in the Louisville area Saturdays at 12 noon with replays Wednesdays at 9PM after WWE Main Event.

The show opens up with Jamin Olivencia making a beeline to the ring. He says he knows Doug purposely injured himself at SNS, and wants his rematch right here tonight. Doug comes out with a shoulder sling and says he is in no condition to fight, as it was Jamin that threw him repeatedly into the ringpost injuring him. Michael Hayes comes to the ring and shows footage from SNS of Doug throwing himself into the ringpost, as well as Doug looking up and smiling from the stretcher. He says he's not a fool, Jamin's not a fool, and the fans are not fools. Tonight, it will be Doug Williams vs. Jamin Olivencia for the OVW Heavyweight Title.
Before Hayes can leave, the Coalition's music hits. Delta Squad Alpha, Delta Team Bravo, & Ghillie stand guard outside the ring as Crimson & Jason Wayne enter. Crimson hasn't forgot about Hayes screwing him out of his title shot. All of a sudden, Sam Shaw comes barreling out of the locker room taking all the Coalition out at ringside. He gets in and goes after Crimson & Wayne, but Hayes stops him. Shaw says he wants all of them. Hayes asks if he really wants all 7 of them. Wayne says it is only fair for Shaw to face them each 1-on-1, so tonight it will be a gauntlet match between Shaw and all 7 members of the Coalition.

The VIP Club: Matt King & AJ Williams (w/"VIP" Joe Rosa, Roberto De Luna, J. Best, & Austin Bradley) vs. The Mobile Homers: Ted "Manbeast" McNaler & Adam Revolver (w/Brittany Devore).
This was a quick match, and despite interference from the VIP Club, the Mobile Homers dominated. They hit the running neckbreaker, and finished it off with the Double Wide for the 1-2-3.
WINNERS: HOMERS by pinfall.
MY TAKE: The Mobile Homers looked reenergized after helping Brittany get her revenge on Paredyse.

In the back, Taeler Hendrix shows off her new leather jacket to Heidi Lovelace. Dylan Bostic storms in, rips it off, and says that she made him go to the ring with her, and this week she will be useful by going to the ring with him. He drags her out to the ring...

"The Ken of OVW, Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling, & King of Pink" Dylan Bostic (w/Taeler Hendrix) vs. Rudy Switchblade.
Dylan hits Rudy and shouts out "Who Sucks Now?". Rudy grabs a chair, and the ref takes it away as Dylan laughs at him. While the ref puts the chair outside, Rudy reaches in his tights and pulls out a pair of brass knucks and tosses them to Dylan. The ref turns and sees him with them, and takes them away. Rudy tries to roll him up for 2. Dylan catches Rudy with a dropkick and lets out another "Who Sucks Now?" Dylan throws Rudy off the ropes, but Rudy hangs in them, and as Dylan charges, Rudy moves, and Dylan flies to the outside. Rudy dives out onto Dylan and throws him back inside. He jumps from the apron onto the top rope and hits a dropkick. Dylan kicks out at 2 on a pin attempt. Dylan takes Rudy down and a guitar starts playing. Ryan Howe comes out serenading Taeler with his guitar playing which distracts Dylan. Dylan turns around and is hit with a Rudy-K-O for the victory.
WINNER: RUDY by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Now that Rudy's feud with Jessie Godderz is over, it looks like he is ready to climb back into title contention. Is Howe into Taeler as much as she is into him, or was his guitar playing just a way to get into Dylan's head?

In the back, Doug Williams is arguing about having a match with Michael Hayes. Hayes, who is holding a water bottle, calls off the match. He then tosses the water bottle at Doug's left side, and Doug catches it with his supposed bad arm. Hayes laughs and says the match is still on. We then see Moose telling Jay Bradley that he must feel like a big man hitting him from behind with a steel chair. Jay says he came in looking to make a statement and starts to walk away. Moose grabs a chair and hits Jay from behind. He turns around into a super kick from Johnny Spade.

GAUNTLET MATCH: The Coalition vs. Sam Shaw.
Shaw quickly takes out Ghillie, then Joe Coleman, then Raul LaMotta, all with a codebreaker. Jack Black gets some offense in, but is also eliminated with the codebreaker. Shiloh Jonze attacks and gets a good amount of offense in as well before getting caught with a codebreaker. Crimson & Jason Wayne come out at the same time. It looks like Wayne is getting in, but Crimson sneaks in from the opposite side of the ring and attacks Shaw from behind. Crimson controls and hits Red Sky, but instead of pinning Shaw, puts a bag over Shaw's head first. He then tries to pin, and Shaw kicks out. Crimson argues with the ref and turns around into a roll up for the pin by Shaw. After the fall, Crimson takes out Shaw's leg and hits another Red Sky. Wayne comes back to the ring and pins Shaw for the victory.
WINNERS: COALITION by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Even though Shaw successfully defeated 6 of the 7 members, the Coalition's dirty tactics cost him from winning the entire gauntlet. Will Shaw have to call in some backup?

OVW TELEVISION TITLE: "The Great" Cliff Compton vs. Rockstar Spud (c).
Randy Royal basically follows Spud out to the ring. He gets in the ring and delivers the knockout forearm to Spud. Tony Gunn runs out to the ring and tries to figure out what he's doing. Royal turns and forearms Compton as well. He walks off as Gunn stands in the middle of the ring looking down at Spud & Compton with a confused look.
WINNER and STILL OVW TV CHAMPION: SPUD by DQ.
MY TAKE: It looks like Royal was tired of watching the Spud & Cliff show and waiting to get another chance at the TV Title.

OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Jamin Olivencia vs. Doug Williams (c).
Jamin attacks and hits an arm drag, and locks in an armbar. Doug tries to break out, but is caught with arm drags, and locked back into an armbar. Jamin elbows Doug across the shoulder/chest. In the corner, Jamin forearms Doug and chops him in the back. He delivers some forearms. Doug throws him off the ropes, and Jamin catches him in a rock bottom-like move. Jamin pins, and Doug kicks out at 2. Jamin hits his jumping clothesline and tries to pin again for 2. Doug rolls out and Jamin kicks him in the head from inside the ring. Jamin chases him around the outside of the ring as Shiloh Jonze runs out and distracts referee Josh Ashcraft. Jason Wayne then comes out and hits Jamin from behind. Doug throws Jamin into the steel steps and takes control. He hammers Jamin on the outside and gets back in the ring. Jamin just barely beats the 10 count. Doug kicks him and chokes him across the middle rope. He hits a backbreaker and tries to pin, but Jamin kicks out. Doug elbows Jamin in the back, hits a knee to the back, and hits a belly to back suplex. He tries to pin, but Jamin kics out again at 2. They exchange blows, and Doug throws Jamin into the corner. He knees him inthe back and hits another belly to back suplex. Another pin attempt for 2. Doug chokes and puts Jamin in a submission, but Jamin elbows out. Doug catches him in an AA-like maneuver. Doug places him on the top turnbuckle and climbs up, but Jamin hits him off. He goes for a missile dropkick, but Doug moves. Doug throws Jamin into the corner, but Jamin jumps onto the second rope and backflips onto Doug. He hits his kamikaze splash in the corner and a knee to the head. He pins, but Doug kicks out. He goes for the Standing O, but Doug shoves him off. He runs Jamin into the corner and hits Chaos Theory, but Jamin kicks out! Jamin comes back and reverses into a pin with bridge and gets the 1-2-3!
WINNER and NEW OVW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: JAMIN by pinfall.
Jamin is attacked by Doug following the match. Doug throws him shoulder first twice into the steel ringpost.
MY TAKE: Doug, upset that he lost the title, looked to injure Jamin the same way he faked his injury. Will he try to get a rematch now next week?

This ended the TV taping.

Post-Show Dark Match:

6-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH: "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz, "Mister Marvelous" Melvin Maximus, & Jeremiah Plunkett vs. Eddie F. Diamond (w/Timmy Danger), Ryan Howe, & "The Welsh Colossus" Rob Terry.
Jessie gets Howe in the corner and hits him. Howe comes out and locks up Jessie from behind. Jessie elbow Howe in the head and poses. Howe rolls Jessie up for 2. Jessie tags Plunkett. Howe catches him with an arm drag, grabs his foot, and tags EFD. EFD twists his foot, but Plunkett reaches up and pokes him in the eye. He tags Mister Marvelous. Marvelous slams EFD, but EFD tags Big Rob. Big Rob and Marvelous have a test of strength that Marvelous is winning, but Rob starts coming back, and Marvelous kicks him. He puts Rob in a side headlock, but Rob throws him off into the ropes. Marvelous holds the ropes and distracts the ref, and Plunkett and Jessie attack Rob from behind. They throw him off the ropes, but Rob comes back plowing through both of them. He tags Howe, who comes in and hits a kneedrop and air guitar fist drop. Jessie throws him into the turnbuckle. He steps on Howe's hair, and misses his Pec-Tacular legdrop. EFD tags in, hits some arm drags, and Jessie tags out to Plunkett. He catches him with an arm drag, chases him out and back in the ring, but Jessie blind tagged Plunkett and hits EFD with an axehandle from behind. He goes for a slam, but EFD falls on top of him. Jessie hammers him, and tags Plunkett back in. He puts EFD in a submission and tags Jessie back in. EFD is worked over in the corner by all 3 men with the ref distracted. Plunkett tries to pin for 2. Jessie is back in and tries to hit EFD into the turnbuckle, but EFD blocks and hits Jessie's head off the turnbuckle. Jessie grabs his foot, and wraps it around the rope. He hits EFD's knee off the canvas and tries to pin for 2. Plunkett tags in and slams EFD and hits a running splash. EFD kicks out and makes the hot tag to Rob. Rob cleans house and hits his finisher on Plunkett for the win.
WINNERS: TERRY, HOWE, & EFD by pinfall.
MY TAKE: Big Rob dominates once again, showing off his impressive strength by lifting up and finishing Plunkett off.

Don't forget this episode will be up online tomorrow. Every Monday, the weekly Top 20 is posted here on OVWmania. As always, thanks for reading!
