OVW TV #706: "Welcome to OVW, Bro!"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, February 27, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this final episode before the Saturday Night Special, we heard from Trailer Park Trash in an exclusive interview, Cliff Compton defended the OVW TV Title, Michael Hayes called out the Coalition and gave them some unexpected news, TNA IMPACT star Robbie E was in action, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

James "Moose" Thomas b. Matt King (w/"VIP" Joe Rosa, Austin Bradley, J. Best, Chase King, & Roberto De Luna). Moose tossed Matt around a couple times like a rag doll, splashed him in the corner, and hit the Moose Kick for the 3 and a quick victory. MY TAKE: Once again, Moose took care of business preparing to battle Johnny Spade.

"Smooth" Johnny Spade b. Chase King (w/"VIP" Joe Rosa, Austin Bradley, J. Best, & Roberto De Luna). Spade kicks Chase, chops him in the corner, and hits a suplex. The VIP Club distract the ref allowing VIP to spear Spade. Chase pounds Spade on the mat, but Spade comes back with his jive punches. He hits the running knee in the corner. Austin gets up on the apron, but eats a super kick. Chase gets up and also receives a super kick for the 1-2-3. MY TAKE: 2 Kings spelt a losing hand to a Spade & a Moose tonight.

Jeremiah Plunkett b. "Dirdey" Jake Dirden. This was the debut for Jake. He is a big guy, as he entered the ring stepping over the top rope. The two locked up, and Jake punched and hit a big backdrop on Plunkett. Plunkett came back with some rights and a slam. He placed Jake in a headlock, but Jake broke out with a chinbuster. He hits some punches and a clothesline. He goes for a chokeslam, but Plunkett slips out and hits the "Best Right in the Business" for the 3. MY TAKE: Plunkett finally gets another win under his belt.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

OVW TV #705: "Trouble in the U.K."

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, February 20, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Doug Williams is upset with the new Director of Operations, the Coalition strikes again, the "beef" between the Mobile Homers and the Mascara Mafia continues, Cliff Compton defends the OVW Television Title, Eddie Diamond still yearns for Epiphany, plus more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

"Smooth" Johnny Spade b. Jeremiah Plunkett. Spade kicks Plunkett and then delivers 2 big chops in the corner. He goes for the running knee, but Plunkett catches him and hits a belly to belly suplex. Plunkett kicks him and knees him in the back. He chokes Spade and then charges him in the corner. Spade moves, hits the running knee, and follows it up with the Super Kick for 3. MY TAKE: Spade came in with his new vengeful attitude and took care of business.

James "Moose" Thomas b. Bodyguy. After Bodyguy came out and disrobed and talked about his submission "The Position of Flexion", Moose makes a beeline to the ring, charges Bodyguy, and throws him in the corner. He charges and splashes, hits the Moose Kick, and quickly gets the 3. MY TAKE: Moose came, saw, and conquered. He, too, means business.

"VIP" Joe Rosa (w/the VIP Club: Matt & Chase King, Austin Bradley, Roberto De Luna, & J. Best) b. Elvis Pridemoore. With a distraction by the VIP Club, Rosa attacks from behind. Elvis comes back with a slam and a splash, but the VIP Club gets back up on the apron. Elvis gets distracted and Rosa takes advantage again. He knees Elvis in the back and out of the ring. With the ref distracted, the VIP Club attacks Elvis on the outside. Elvis comes back again with running forearms, but the VIP Club distracts the ref again and pull Elvis' head across the top rope. VIP hits the VIP Treatment (spinning diamond cutter) for the pin and the win. MY TAKE: Rosa has been doing very well recently and with this new entourage around him, it will be tough to beat him.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

OVWmania Presents: OVW Top 20 (Ed. 39)

This is the OVW Top 20 for the week of February 12-18, 2013 exclusively on OVWmania. Each category features the champion followed by the top contenders. After last week's TV featuring the announcement of a new Director of Operations, where do the OVW superstars rank this week?

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

OVW TV #704: OVW Has a New "DOO"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, February 13, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, OVW's new "DOO" doesn't refer to a hairstyle, but a new Director Of Operations! Also, the Gutcheckers battled the Wild Cards for #1 contendership, Jamin Olivencia challenged Doug Williams, Cliff Compton defended the OVW Television Title, the feud between the Mobile Homers and the Mascara Mafia continued, plus much more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

The Mobile Homers: Ted "Manbeast" McNaler & Adam Revolver (w/Brittany Devore) b. Jeremiah Plunkett & Bodyguy. While the Bodyguy poses and distracts Ted, Plunkett attacks with a hard right to the head. He hammers Ted in the corner and flip slams him. He stomps him and then hits him with an uppercut. He tags Bodyguy who comes in and kicks Ted and poses again. Ted gets up and catches a kick, punches Bodyguy, and throws him into the corner. Bodyguy comes out and is backflipped. Ted tags Adam. Adam throws Bodyguy into the ropes. He holds on and tags in Plunkett. Plunkett runs in and is double hip tossed. The Homers then hit the Double Wide for the pin. MY TAKE: A good win for Ted & Adam as they still look for revenge against the Mascara Mafia.

Taeler Hendrix b. Heidi Lovelace. Heidi offers a handshake, but Taeler slaps her hand away. Heidi locks up with Taeler, but Taeler breaks out and takes Heidi to the mat, pounding her in the head. Heidi comes back and slings Taeler across the ring by her head. She hits a twirling hurricanrana for 2. Taeler comes back and hits a devastating faceplant finisher for 3. MY TAKE: Taeler looked like she was back on her game tonight. Is she lining herself up for another Women's Title opportunity?

The Mascara Mafia: Espy & Paredyse b. Matt King & Eddie Diamond (w/Timmy Danger, Chase King, & the X2C Ladies). King armdrags Espy and tags Diamond in. He works on Espy's arm, and tags King back in. King locks Espy's arm and throws him into the corner. Espy hides in the ropes, and as the ref tries to pull King back, Espy pokes King in the eye. He tags Paredyse, and they hit a double team slam/neckbreaker combo, followed by the double butt bump. Paredyse clotheslines him as he calls the X2C ladies and Timmy Danger "cows" and calls Brittany Devore a big "cow". He tags Espy who comes in and slams King. Paredyse comes back in and goes for a missile dropkick, but King moves. King tags EFD. EFD comes in and is on fire, taking Paredyse down, and sets him up for the Soulja Boy Shuffle. Epiphany comes out and starts flirting with Chase King, distracting EFD. Paredyse knees EFD in the back and tags Espy. They hit a finisher that looked similar to the Mobile Homers' Double Wide for the pin and the win. MY TAKE: Paredyse & Espy's behavior is mind-boggling in calling people "cows". What's the deal? Is it that time of the month?

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.

OVWmania Presents: OVW Top 20 (Ed. 38)

This is the OVW Top 20 for the week of February 5-11, 2013 exclusively on OVWmania. Each category features the champion followed by the top contenders. How do the stars line up this week?

OVW featured on WWE.com

Today on WWE.com, they have a feature article up on OVW making 4 of the top superstars in WWE history. I was surprised to have seen this, seeing as WWE has NXT and OVW is now affiliated with TNA. There's no denying that the OVW days were a big part of WWE's history when you think about superstars like John Cena, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, & Batista (the ones WWE mentioned), and you can add more names like CM Punk, The Miz, Big Show, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, Dolph Ziggler, Mark Henry, Brad Maddox, Santino Marella, Zack Ryder, & even Ryback! It goes to prove how regardless of affiliation, OVW was and is the place to be for tomorrow's superstars today! You can click on the link below to see WWE.com's story.

OVW Special Report: Expo 5 Results

Tonight, the OVW stars were out at Derby Park Expo 5 for a fun-filled night of wrestling action. Here's a quick recap of what went down:

Tony Gunn (w/Randy Royal) b. Eddie Diamond (w/Timmy Danger) via submission to the YTO.

Bodyguy & "Marksman" Nick Dumeyer b. Stephon J. Baxter III & Albert Einstein Baxter II via pinfall when Bodyguy rolled up Stephon with a handful of tights. After the match, Bodyguy & Dumeyer continued to attack the Baxters, but the Assassin came out and took them both out.

Heidi Lovelace b. Taeler Hendrix via pinfall. During the match, Taeler was working over Heidi's hand and wrist and forced Heidi to wave at the fans, then to me, screaming "Wave to Brian!". She also told me she expected to be #1 on the Top 20 this week.

The Coalition's "Corporal" Shiloh Jonze & "Sergeant Major" Jack Black (w/Joe Coleman, Jason Wayne, & Ghillie) b. Sam Shaw & Alex Silva by pinfall after interference. Silva was going for the pin, but got clocked in the head by Wayne's tag title while the ref was distracted.

"Mr. Pec-Tacular" Jessie Godderz b. Jamin Olivencia by pinfall after slingshotting Jamin into an exposed turnbuckle after the referee was knocked out.

OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: "The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/Tony Gunn) b. Doug Williams by DQ after Williams hit Royal with the title belt.

MAIN EVENT: Paredyse & "The Welsh Colossus" Rob Terry b. The Coalition's "He-Man of Homeland Security" Jason Wayne & "Kamikaze of Combat Communications" Joe Coleman (w/Shiloh Jonze, Jack Black, & Ghillie) by pinfall after Terry chokeslammed and pinned Wayne. Shiloh & Black tried to interfere, but Shaw & Silva came out to even the odds. It was announced that the Coalition would meet Terry, Shaw, Silva, & Paredyse in a NO DQ 8-Man Tag at the next show at Expo 5.

OVW TV #703: "This Whole Locker Room's Out of Order!"

This is the OVW Report for Wednesday, February 6, 2013. This episode can be seen online starting tomorrow at www.ovwrestling.com/tv. In this episode, Trailer Park Trash made a major announcement affecting control of OVW, OVW Heavyweight Champion Doug Williams decided to make an example out of a non-wrestling OVW employee, there was added anger between the Mascara Mafia & the Mobile Homers, more arguing between former partners Jessie Godderz & Rudy Switchblade, plus much more!

Without further ado:

Here we go...

Pre-Show Dark Matches:

James "Moose" Thomas b. Jeremiah Plunkett. Moose gets Plunkett in the corner and clean breaks, but Plunkett hits Moose. Moose shoves him across the ring. Plunkett wants a test of strength which Moose wins, but Plunkett kicks him. Moose rams him into the corner and delivers a massive chop. Plunkett comes back with a couple shots, but Moose throws him to the corner. He hits a big splash followed by the side slam. Plunkett gets up and eats a Moose Kick for 3. MY TAKE: Moose is still on the hunt to try and get the OVW Heavyweight Title.

"The Double R Superstar" Randy Royal (w/Tony Gunn) b. Stephon J. Baxter III. Stephon looks unsure how to start and looks at his textbook. He comes back out of the corner and puts an armbar on Royal. Royal breaks out and throws Stephon off the ropes and hits a shoulder block. He delivers chops to Stephon around the ring. Stephon hits a hip toss and says "Did I do that?". He tries to rollup Royal, but only gets a 2 count. Royal comes back with the knockout forearm for the pin. MY TAKE: 6-0 and still looking strong. Can Royal keep it going?

"VIP" Joe Rosa b. "Marksman" Nick Dumeyer. Dumeyer chops VIP and clotheslines him. VIP takes down, but Dumeyer fires back. Dumeyer throws VIP off the ropes, but VIP reverses and catches Dumeyer in a big spinebuster. He spells out the V-I-P legdrop and then hits the VIP Treatment (spinning diamond cutter) for the pin. MY TAKE: VIP has been racking up the wins recently. There must be something in that champagne.

OVW Women's Champion Jessie Belle b. Heidi Lovelace. Jessie locks up Heidi from behind, but Heidi breaks out and throws Jessie into the corner. She goes for the butt bump, but Jessie moves. She hits the Widow's Peak for the pin. After the match, Bodyguy comes out and starts schmoozing Heidi, but the Assassin comes out. Bodyguy poses and the Assassin then shakes his stuff before taking Bodyguy out with the massive clothesline. MY TAKE: A quick and dominant win for the OVW Women's Champion.

That concludes tonight's pre-show dark matches. I always recommend watching the episode first on TV or online before reading the rest of the report. Again, you can check it out on OVW's official website late Thursday afternoon/evening at www.ovwrestling.com/tv.
